I made my way around the Carpet Call office asking everyone about their rug story. I was amazed. One particular Carpet Call employee revealed they could not throw out their kid’s old nursery rug as it was the rug on which their beautiful child had first learned to crawl. Another Carpet Call employee told me that every band has a lucky “Tour Rug” they use on stage to cover the cables and is a treasured item.
Sitting in the Carpet Call lunch room chatting about rugs this week I was shown an infographic on the world’s most luxurious rugs. Did you know that the Pearl Carpet Rug of Baroda is worth US$5.5 million and was woven with 600 emeralds, 1000 ruby and nearly 2 million pearls? I doubt we shall ever see this on display at a Carpet Call store.
One of our Carpet Call rugs sales team members shared an interesting story with me where a customer brought a photo of a rug into a Carpet Call store they had seen on display at the Louvre whilst on holiday in Paris. They wanted a replica rug for their home explaining that each time they see the rug it would remind them of Islamic Art through the ages and the Turkish Ottoman Empire.
I'm looking forward to hearing more rug anecdotes and tales. The Carpet Call rug team have promised to personally ask customers about their personal rug stories.
The Carpet Call team have put together the Carpet Call rugs gallery so that you can sip on a coffee and view the entire range of Carpet Call rugs
